Our walks be-get our thoughts – which then can be-come steps of action. In my B-Side Docs about Seattle vignette produced as part of MTV’s $5 Dollar Cover Seattle, I had the opportunity to take a walk with musician Gabriel Teodros to places not typically highlighted on Seattle tour maps. The sixth cut from his album “Love Works” starts with the lyric, “We got a lot of work to do.” Indeed, taking a walk with Gabriel is work but just like the beat driving his song there is the tickle of a piano line which be-speaks hints of play and fun.

In response to low prime time ratings, multimedia giant MTV is now creating a live talk show that uses various social media platforms during the program. Advertisers were convinced that this would be MTVs biggest daytime talk show since TRL ended in November 2008.
As traditional media outlets battle to engage their audiences and produce relevant content, cable network MTV answered the call with the Alexa Chung Show. Read more…

In my first MCDM class at the University of Washington, my professor Hanson Hosein mentioned a website called Hulu that offers free streaming videos of TV sitcoms from NBC, FOX and other stations. This is a interesting “business model” that Hulu uses to distribute the episodes in a high resolution format that can be syndicated to other sites like Comedy Central, PBS, USA Networks, and motion pictures. Now MTV is joining the market with a vast archive of music videos from most of the top record labels into a new website called MTVmusic. The videos like Hulu will be ad-supported and free with interactive options like embedding onto blogs.
