This is an excellent idea. You can't even listen to the morning news for more than a few seconds without hearing the words "Twitter" or "Facebook". More and more websites are adding "Follow Us" or "Find Us Here". Whether people like it or not, social networking is part of our world now.

As @briansolis said in his article, The Social Media Manifesto: Integrating Social Media Into Marketing Communications: "Monologue has given way to dialog…Content is the new democracy and we the people, are ensuring that our voices are heard…Those who participate will succeed – everyone else will either have to catch up or miss the game altogether. Engage or die."

Sounds extreme, but for companies, it's more than important than ever to get involved with their target market.

This is a good opportunity to learn more about the marketing, PR and information through micro-blogs. I'm really amazed to find out the power of Twitter around the world. Now as Jon Kleinberg mentions on his article The Convergence of Social and Technological Networks: "Now information can spread from person to person, contagiously, in the style of an epidemic". How? By the power of social media, especially the power of Twitter!

This sounds terrific. As food journalists my cohorts and I are getting a lot out of food tweets - news, comments and even tracking food micro-evolution. Two weeks ago bacon was declared "over" but I'm not sure I believe it!
