Implementing social media in any part of your life calls for a cross check question “is this working?”. If it works is not the only question, but is it a tool that works and works and works? Does it give us the stay power of the energize bunny?

I think social media is more dynamic and organic than that. There are certain components that work, but others that become needed or not needed. If social media is all about the critical mass making it work, than the corporations that are using these tools need to have some sort of base line on the effectiveness.

Even though social media is dynamic, there must be value in the testing of of its effectiveness. I have seen several companies now that position themselves as the experts in social media analysis. Here is just one: Social Target.

We do know social media is valid, but do we know what parts of it is for which needs? I do know one thing. I like using and I like using over and over again. Drilling down from there is always the more complex part. I am not a detailed person, but I love the analysis. I am thrilled that there are people that specialize in collecting the details!
